Groundbreaking deployment sets a national benchmark for secure, real-time cash salary distribution to thousands of unbanked workers in Jordan

In a first-of-its-kind deployment, IrisGuard, in partnership with Cairo Amman Bank Jordan (CAB) has successfully launched a national-scale biometric cash salary payment network for unbanked workers in Jordan. The EyePay® Network solution, powered by their iris recognition technology, has revolutionised salary payments for thousands of blue-collar, unbanked workers and aligned with international labour standards whilst pioneering worker-centric, tech-driven financial inclusion in the region.

In partnership with United Creations, one of Jordan’s top garment manufacturers, IrisGuard has transformed how thousands of blue-collar workers receive their wages. United Creations’ employees can now collect their wages at their convenience through licensed money exchangers across the country using nothing but their eyes.

Faced with the logistical and security challenges of traditional on-site salary distribution, United Creations turned to EyePay® Network to streamline disbursement, reduce administrative overhead and improve transparency. The EyePay® Network platform ensures full compliance with Better Work and International Labour Organization (ILO) standards, offering unprecedented real-time view into wage payment compliance across the sector.

Workers are registered biometrically at their workplace during onboarding. From that point on, their iris becomes the only credential needed to collect wages, protecting workers from ID theft and wage misdirection.

"This is about transforming financial access at the source,” said Imad Malhas, Managing Director and Founder of IrisGuard. "By eliminating the need for bank accounts and physical IDs, our EyePay® Network platform does not only protect vulnerable workers, but we are also changing how payroll can operate at scale securely and efficiently.”

The integration has strengthened United Creations’s market position in Jordan, as a responsible and attractive employer in a highly competitive labour market. With this model, they offer their workers a secure, flexible, and low-risk novel approach to access their pay, often combined with convenient, competitive remittance service.

Money exchangers, many of whom also function as remittance agents, benefit from real-time settlement directly into their bank accounts, removing the need for cash reserves, delayed settlement and allowing for infinite scalability.
